Carrus Specialty Hospital meets the complex healthcare needs of critically ill patients. Our patients require 9 to 14 hours per day of complex nursing with physician supervision and benefit from a multidisciplinary treatment approach that involves a carefully structured, individualized treatment program.
Carrus patients typically stay 25 days or longer. Our patients are treated for many different illnesses, including: ventilator dependency; stage III and IV wound care; low-tolerance rehabilitation due to amputations, head injuries and trauma; and complex medical treatment due to cancer gastrointestinal diseases, infectious diseases, malnutrition, MRSA, neurological diseases, post-operative complications, and sepsis.

Carrus Specialty Hospital is a physician-owned facility located in Sherman, Texas. This long-term acute care hospital meets the needs of critically ill patients with substantial and comprehensive resources. The hospital’s resources include a rehabilitation facility that features a full range of physical and occupational equipment, a special procedures area that provides CAT scans and X-rays, and four beautifully decorated courtyards for our patients’ enjoyment. Licensed by the State of Texas and the Texas Department of Health and Human Services, Carrus Specialty Hospital is an approved provider for Medicare.
