“It is hard to imagine that there are members of our community who do not have enough to eat,” says Carrus Chief Marketing Officer, Necia Guidry. “However, we know many suffer. Hunger strikes all ages.”
All three local Digity radio stations – KMKT, KLAK and KMAD – will broadcast live in front of the Walmart Supercenter at Highways 82 and 75 in Sherman from 6 am-7 pm on Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 24th – 25th, and from 6 a.m. – Noon on Wednesday, Nov. 26th. The DJs will ask you to stop by and donate to the food drive.
Many volunteers are helping this year, including the Skaggs family. Until his death in the summer of 2005, Bob Skaggs was a tireless supporter of the annual food drive and took vacation time every fall to help out. He often was accompanied by his children, whom he wanted to teach the importance of volunteering. Every year, to honor his memory, his family helps with the event. Today, even Bob’s grandchildren will be old enough to help out.
You can help – just by dropping by and donating a few items or a few dollars. Every donation goes to a LOCAL family. Join us!
